How to Use Hotmail Offline

Thankfully for all the users of Hotmail, Microsoft has provided us with lots of features that make using its email much more convenient and comfortable. Considering that there are a large number of such features that make our life easier, it would be useful to get to know more about them. One of such features is the feature of Hotmail offline access, and it allows you, after being switched on, of course, to access your email even without having internet connection. If you follow the instructions below, you are able to switch this feature on and take advantage of it in a matter of several minutes. So, let´s go ahead.

The feature of Hotmail offline access allows you to get important information from your email account even when you don´t have an internet connection

Step 1. Enter the website of Microsoft´s MSN by opening a browser and copying this link into the address line of it: http://msn.com/. Hit the “Enter” button after it.

Step 2. Sign in to the system of Hotmail by using your email address and password.

Step 3. You will appear on the page of your Hotmail account. Pay attention to the icons located in the upper-right corner, and choose the “Settings” button out of them. Click on it.

Step 4. In the opened pop-up menu, you should select “Options.”

Step 5. On the left side of the page, you will see a menu of options. You have to navigate it now. Click on the section of “General” options.

Step 6. Once the “General options” have been opened, you need to click on “Offline settings.”

Step 7. This page is where you have to switch on the feature of Hotmail offline access. In order to start the procedure of activating the feature, place a tick near “Turn on offline access.”

Step 8. In the first screenshot you can see a window on the right side. The same one will be opened in your browser. In particular, Hotmail warns that you should be the only person to use the computer, or abandon the idea of switching this feature on otherwise. If you are sure about activating it, then go ahead by clicking on the “Yes” button.

Step 9. Then, you will see several windows more where you will see various recommendations from Hotmail. Click “Next”, and then “Next” in the next window again.

Step 10. At the end, you will finally see a window that will notify you about having the online access set up. Click on the “OK” button.

Step 11. After it, you get to see the page where you turned the offline access on. There, you are able to manage what folders you will see offline. By default, the inbox and draft folders are always displayed to you. However, you will see 5 fields where you can add the other folders you wish. Do it by simply clicking on “+” inside each of the fields, and then choose out of the offered folders. Now, you can freely access the respective folders without internet connection.
